Queens, NY— On Saturday September 27th, October 11th, and October 18th, Shortstack will be holding auditions for its 9th Annual Charity Fashion Show at Junior High School 190 (68-17 Austin Street, Forest Hills, NY 11375).

Shortstack is an 8-month long self-esteem and modeling program for girls who do not meet the “normal” standards of the fashion industry. For years, girls have been rejected from the industry because they do not fit a certain criteria. Shortstack was created to change those standards, so in order to audition for Shortstack, all girls must be 4’8” to 5’6” tall, 14 to 22 years of age, and weight, nor experience, are a factor. Girls accepted into the program will be taught lessons on self-esteem, confidence, healthy habits and body image, along with tips and advice on how to pose for cameras, walk a runway, participate in professional photo shoots, take part in interviews, and much more.

Photo shoots with various photographers, community service, fundraising events, and of course fashion shows are all a part of the Shortstack program to give it’s models “real-world” experience to break into the fashion industry. In June 2015, Shortstack will be holding it’s 9th Annual Charity Fashion Show to benefit Windows of Opportunity, Inc. (WOO – www.eisenbergacdmy.wpengine.com) in New York City. Models chosen at auditions will walk in this fashion show, with over 300 guests in attendance. Past sponsors include Hot Topic, David’s Bridal, Banana Republic, Suzi Chen, Bombshell Clothing, House of Correia, Smart Glamour, Marco Hall, Popchips, SoNu Beverages, IDT Corporation, Hollis Woods Community Church, U.S. Limousine Services, LTD. and many, many more.

This year’s program is especially exciting, as Patricia Budhan and Frannelys Frias, who have both been models in the past with Shortstack™, along with Runway Directors, Rebecca Moinian and Katerina Theophanous, will take charge of Shortstack’s leadership development and daily program coordination. “They bring a comprehensive understanding of leadership, passion, and genuine heart and soul that will greatly benefit Windows of Opportunity, the models participating in the program, and our community sponsors and supporters,” states Hal Eisenberg, Executive Director of WOO.

Shortstack™ – Shortstack is a teen driven fashion and modeling program. Its goal is to allow young girls who do not fit the “normal” model standards to be a part of charitable fashion events. For years, girls have been rejected from the modeling industry because they do not meet the standards. Shortstack was created by high school students under the guidance of Windows of Opportunity, Inc. (www.eisenbergacdmy.wpengine.com) to give these girls a chance at achieving their dreams as models and empower them to love themselves for whom they are.
