Gabriella Neglia is a 20-year-old model and the Assistant Director of Shortstack, a “teen driven fashion and modeling program”. This organization is designed to allow girls who are shorter than models are “supposed to be” to participate in charitable fashion events as models.
When I was ten years old, I wanted to be a model and actress. There are many, many reasons why that is not the path that my life took, and I’m fine with the fact that it didn’t go that way. However I always did think it was unfair that a major reason I couldn’t even think about ever modeling was the fact that I grew to a whopping 4′ 11″. I find this young 5′ 0″ woman and the Shortstack organization an inspiration for that reason.
And when I read in a Queens Tribune article that she spends her free time crocheting as well as playing Scrabble I adored her even more! Yay for all the awesome young women in the crochet world who are doing so many cool things with their lives.
